Whipped and tender.
A little wobble.
Made to be sliced.
HandPress, squeeze, or grab any piece of cake and pull.
A volumetric soft cake solved live in WebGPU. Every newly cut piece remains soft, physical, and cuttable.
The cake is a volumetric mesh of — particles and — tetrahedra, solved with XPBD on a fixed 60 Hz step. Shape and volume constraints give the sponge its slow, plush recovery.
Damping acts on relative velocity inside the cake, so each piece can fall and tumble freely while the final wobble dies away. Ground contact adds a soft landing and friction.
Draw across one or several pieces. The stroke becomes a vertical cutting plane; the knife presses the frosting, passes through, and replaces each crossed piece with two aligned soft bodies. Momentum and decoration attachment carry through the cut, so every piece can be grabbed or cut again.
The smooth frosting and top decorations are embedded into the volumetric mesh, so they travel naturally with whichever piece owns them.
WGSL shaders combine warm diffuse light, restrained highlights, cream-edge transmission and a soft floor shadow for an edible editorial finish.
